Island Tourism Festival in Port Blair: 6th Jan to 15th Jan 2017- Tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The 10 Day’s longs festival is going to be celebrated from 6th Jan to 15th Jan 2017 and it will with an inaugural function at ITF ground Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar, one of the seven union territories of India. This festival is celebrated every year during December – January month. The Island Tourism Festival (ITF) is organized by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. This Festival is an annual celebration of cultural event to promote tourism and entertainment of islanders. The main events are organized at Port Blair. Some small programs is also organized in different places such as Wimberlygunj, Wandoor, Neil, Havelock, Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Hut Bay, Car Nicobar, Kamorta and Campbell Bay.

ITF ground swells with people from all walks of the life and tourists. The highlight of the festival at ITF ground is the exhibition depicting strides made by the Island Administration in various spheres and sale of general merchandise, food stalls, and stalls of interest to tourists, Floating Restaurant etc. The main attraction of this festival is the performance of mainland artists (music bands), singers, dancers, performers etc. Artists of East Zone and South Zone Cultural Centers are also invited by the Art & Culture department.



Port Blair is the capital city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an Indian territory in the Bay of Bengal.  Samudrika Marine Museum expresses the local marine life and the Anthropological Museum expresses indigenous tribes of islands. This Island is called Mini India because it has unique culture where people of all religions & languages live in complete peace and harmony.

You can take amusement of Aqua sports and parasailing, water sports competitions like Nicobari Hodi race. Some other attractions are Magic show, Puppet show, Floating restaurant, Baby show, Dog show, Canoe Race and Scuba Diving. The festival projects the image of the islands as an Eco-friendly tourist destination.

How to Reach: 

Air: Port Blair is connected to Chennai, Kolkatta and Bangkok by air.
Ship:  Regular passenger ship services operates regularly from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam to Port Blair
