The
Great God of the Cave - Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is located in the Chhatarpur
district of Madhya Pradesh in Central India. It is in the Khajuraho village,
and the temple complex is spread over an area of 6 square kilometres (2.3 sq
mi). It is largest and most ornate Hindu temple in the medieval temple group
found at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, India.
This temple built-in 1050 AD by the
Chandela King Vidydhara, with over 900 sculptures carved into sandstone
stacked without mortar. The Kandariya Mahadev temple is a fine example of the
craftsmanship of the medieval times.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the largest states in central India. Hindu and Jain temples at Khajuraho are world famous. You can also take amusement of numerous national parks.
